Tom Cruise shared high praise for Steven Spielberg‘s Disclosure Day after watching it with old friends. The Mission: Impossible star enjoyed the filmmaker’s latest sci-fi movie, featuring his longtime friend Colin Firth, and more, inside a packed theater.
What did Tom Cruise say about Disclosure Day?
Tom Cruise and Steven Spielberg’s bond has been really strong, thanks to their previous collaborations. Cruise has worked with the Disclosure Day director on two movies: 2002’s Minority Report and 2005’s War of the Worlds. Both films were critical as well as commercial hits, earning over $358 million and $600 million worldwide, respectively.
Cruise simply adores Spielberg, and when it was time for Disclosure Day’s release, the action star couldn’t resist going to the theater. He was also joined by longtime friends and former co-stars, Colin Firth and Dakota Fanning, who worked with him in Minority Report and War of the Worlds, respectively.
As for his reaction to Disclosure Day, Cruise was speechless. “Nothing better than a summer Spielberg movie night in a packed theater with friends!”
Praising Spielberg, he added, “Steven thank you for all of the hours of joy that you have given us in the cinema!! It has been a great honor and pleasure to have worked with you and to call you my friend.” Cruise also gave his brief yet effective verdict for the movie, saying, “We all loved Disclosure Day!!”
Well, Cruise is not the only one who’s in awe of Disclosure Day. The sci-fi/alien movie has also impressed critics and fans. At the time of this article’s publication, it holds a solid Tomatometer score of 81% and a Popcornmeter score of 75% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Speaking of just alien-based sci-fi projects, Disclosure Day is the third-best-rated movie in Spielberg’s filmography.
The cast features Emily Blunt in the lead role alongside Josh O’Connor, Colin Firth, Colman Domingo, Eve Hewson, and Wyatt Russell. McKenna Bridger, Elizabeth Marvel, Elliot Villar, and Chavo Guerrero Jr. are also playing supporting roles.
Disclosure Day is now out in theaters.
