The Batman 2 will see Brian Tyree Henry playing a popular DC villain, instead of Sebastian Stan. A reliable insider has revealed a major update on the sequel movie.
Who is Brian Tyree Henry playing in The Batman 2?
According to scooper Jeff Sneider on his InSneider website, Tyree Henry is reportedly set to play Harvey Dent in The Batman Part II. The character eventually becomes the iconic DC villain Two-Face. Previously, many believed that Sebastian Stan would play the iconic Batman villain in the sequel, but now it seems that’s not the case at all.
Sneider revealed, “I’m told that Brian Tyree Henry will be playing Harvey Dent. He won’t be the first Black actor to play Dent in live-action, as Billy Dee Williams played the character in Tim Burton’s 1989 movie Batman.” While Sneider has a reliable track record in the past, fans should still take everything with a grain of salt unless an official update comes out.
Speaking more of Tyree Henry, he was previously seen in the Marvel projects such as 2021’s Eternals. In the superhero movie, he played the role of Phastos. He was also seen in 2023’s Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, where he voiced the character of Jefferson Morales.
As for Stan, he is actually playing Victor Zsasz in The Batman 2, according to Sneider. The supervillain was created by Alan Grant and Norm Breyfogle for DC Comics. He first appeared in 1992’s Batman: Shadow of the Bat #1. Interestingly, the character has appeared briefly in several live-action DC projects before.
Zsasz was seen in Christopher Nolan’s 2005 movie Batman Begins, played by Tim Booth. He also appeared in the popular Gotham TV series, where he was portrayed by Anthony Carrigan. In the 2020 movie Birds of Prey, Chris Messina played this character.
The Batman 2, featuring Robert Pattinson in the titular role, will hit theaters on October 1, 2027.
