A new report reveals Matt Reeves’ The Batman Part II will feature an infamous DC villain group. Speculation has been mounting over who the main villains of The Batman 2 will be. One of the more popular theories about the sequel’s antagonists appears to be coming true.

What group of DC villains will appear in The Batman 2?

Jeff Sneider from The Insneider reports that the Batman sequel will feature the Court of Owls. “Meanwhile, I’m also told that the Court of Owls is indeed involved in The Batman Part II,” said Sneider in his report. “The group is an ancient secret society of criminals that includes some of Gotham City’s oldest and wealthiest families, who have controlled Gotham from the shadows for centuries, and enforce their will using a group of deadly assassins known as Talons.”

In DC comics, the Court of Owls is a secret society that has controlled Gotham City from the shadows. The group has been featured in various Batman comic storylines, including Batman: Night of the Owls, Batman: Eternal, Dark Nights: Metal & Death Metal, and more. Among the Court of Owls are the deadly Talons, ruthless assassins who have gone face-to-face against Batman.

In the same report, Sneider also revealed the truth behind Sebastian Stan’s role, which isn’t Harvey Dent as previously rumored. The Batman dealt with the corruption of Gotham City’s officials, following a thread that went as far back as Thomas Wayne, Bruce Wayne’s father. It seems like the sequel will continue to pull on that thread, with Batman investigating more of Gotham’s secrets.

The Batman 2’s set videos have also teased a new Bat logo, which fans speculate may be teasing one of the sequel’s unannounced villains, along with its working title. Most recently, Colin Farrell, who plays the Penguin, revealed that he will start work on the film very soon. The Batman Part II’s villain mystery keeps deepening. The sequel is also expected to feature an “evolution” in Batman’s costume.

The Batman Part II is scheduled to release on October 1, 2027.
