Filming on The Batman 2 has begun. The sequel to 2022’s The Batman is once again being directed by Matt Reeves and will arrive in United States theaters next year.
Released in 2022, The Batman is a DC superhero movie that stars Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne/Batman. It kicked off a new The Batman Epic Crime Saga shared universe, which was then continued in 2024 with The Penguin limited series, which saw Colin Farrell reprise his role as Oswald “Oz” Cobblepot/Penguin.

Official plot details for The Batman 2 remain under wraps at this time. It was previously believed that Sebastian Stan had been cast as Harvey Dent/Two-Face in the film; however, according to Jeff Sneider’s The InSneider, it now appears that Stan will actually be playing Victor Zsasv. Sneider also reports that Brian Tyree Henry is actually playing Harvey Dent, while Scarlet Johansson and Charles Dance’s roles have not been revealed.
The Batman: Part II is scheduled to be released on October 1, 2027, from Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Studios.
The Batman grossed approximately $772.3 million globally after it finished its box office run in 2022. In addition to Pattinson and Farrell, the cast of that movie includes Zoë Kravitz as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Paul Dano as Edward Nashton/The Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as Jim Gordon, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, and Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth. It, along with The Penguin, are available to stream on HBO Max at this time.
