Daredevil: Born Again showrunner Dario Scardapane has finally addressed the chances of Luke Cage’s daughter becoming Captain America in the MCU. Cage, played by Mike Colter and Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones, finally made their MCU debut in Born Again Season 2. It was revealed that the two share a relationship and are parents to a daughter named Danielle Cage-Jones.
Dario Scardapane on Danielle Cage-Jones’ Captain America chances
The Daredevil: Born Again boss recently sat down for a chat, where he addressed the theories of Luke Cage and Jessica Jones’ daughter becoming Captain America.
When asked by Variety about the chances of this happening, Dario Scardapane said, “Isn’t that the question? That is so far out. That’s for the guy who comes five, 10 years from now.” He hinted that maybe the idea would come true in the future if Marvel wishes and stated, “I know that in one version of the universe, that is who she is. All that stuff is fun to play with. Who knows, Marvel can always rush the timeline.”
Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again ended with Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock revealing his identity to the world. It also brought back Mike Colter’s Luke Cage and showcased a reunion between him and Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones. Marvel renewed the show for Season 3, and based on the events of the recent season, fans believe a Defenders team-up will be the show’s key theme.
The second season also introduces Cage and Jones’ daughter Daniella to the fans. An alternate timeline mentioned in the comics has led fans to predict that she would become Captain America in the MCU.
Moreover, according to a report by Inverse, in the comics on Earth-15061, Daniella Cage-Jones takes on the role of Captain America after her training period with Natasha Romanoff, AKA Black Widow.
