A new May the 4th Star Wars video for The Mandalorian and Grogu has been released.
Lucasfilm is releasing The Mandalorian and Grogu in United States theaters later this month. A continuation of the popular Disney+ The Mandalorian show, the new movie is directed by Jon Favreau and stars Pedro Pascal.
In celebration of May the 4th, Star Wars and Lucasfilm have now released a brand-new video to promote The Mandalorian and Grogu. Watch it below (watch more trailers and clips):
What do we see in the Mandalorian and Grogu video?
The Mandalorian and Grogu video not only highlights the forthcoming film; rather, it contains some footage of other Star Wars movies as well. To kick things off, there’s some footage of Luke Skywalker, Ben Kenobi, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Qui-Gon Jin while Pascal’s character narrates, “The old protect the young, and then the young protect the old.”
From there, the video has an assortment of footage further highlighting characters like Yoda, Rey, Anakin Skywalker, and more. The second half of the video, then, is mainly footage from The Mandalorian and Grogu, which officially arrives on May 22, 2026.
The official synopsis for the movie reads, “The evil Empire has fallen, and Imperial warlords remain scattered throughout the galaxy. As the fledgling New Republic works to protect everything the Rebellion fought for, they have enlisted the help of legendary Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and his young apprentice Grogu.”
Sigourney Weaver and Jeremy Allen White — the latter of whom is voicing Rotta the Hutt, the son of deceased crime lord Jabba the Hutt — also star in the film. In addition to directing, Favreau serves as a producer alongside Kathleen Kennedy, Dave Filoni, and Ian Bryce.
All three seasons of The Mandalorian, as well as tons of other Star Wars shows and movies, are currently available to stream on Disney+.
