In time for this year’s annual Star Wars Day, Disney+ has officially added the Season 1 finale episode of Lucasfilm’s newest Star Wars series to its library. Beginning today, subscribers can now finally stream all ten episodes of Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord, nearly a month after its successful series debut.
“Set after the events of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, this pulpy adventure finds Maul plotting to rebuild his criminal syndicate on a planet untouched by the Empire. There, he crosses paths with a disillusioned young Jedi Padawan who could be the apprentice he is seeking to aid him in his relentless pursuit of revenge,” reads the show’s official logline.
What’s next for Disney+’s latest Star Wars TV show?
The Season 1 finale premiere of Lucasfilm’s Darth Maul TV show comes just days after creator Dave Filoni officially confirmed that his latest Star Wars animated series has been renewed for a second season. At the moment, further details about the next installment’s plot and potential release date are still under wraps.
Dave Filoni created Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord based on Star Wars characters that George Lucas created. The Season 1 voice cast includes Sam Witwer as Maul, Wagner Moura as Brander Lawson, Gideon Adlon as Devon Izara, Richard Ayoade as Two-Boots, Dennis Haysbert as Master Eeko-Dio-Daki, Chris Diamantopoulos as Looti Vario, Charlie Bushnell as Rylee Lawson, Vanessa Marshall as Rook Kast, David W. Collins as Spybot, A.J. LoCascio as Marrok, and Steve Blum as Icarus.
Dave Filoni, Athena Yvette Portillo, Matt Michnovetz, Brad Rau, Carrie Beck, and Josh Rimes served as the executive producers of the show, and Brad Rau is the supervising director. Since debuting, the series has received positive reviews from critics and fans. Also, the series currently holds a Certified Fresh score of 98% on Rotten Tomatoes, making it one of the Star Wars franchise’s highest-rated TV shows.
