What Blumhouse horror movie is now on Peacock?
Beginning today, Blumhouse’s 2024 movie Imaginary is now finally available to stream on Peacock. In the film, Wise played a woman whose stepdaughter gets haunted by the same dark entity that terrorized her when she was a child. The ensemble cast also included Tom Payne as Max, Taegen Burns as Taylor, Pyper Braun as Alice, Samuel Salary as Ben, Matthew Sato as Liam, Verónica Falcón as Dr. Alana Soto, and Betty Buckley as Gloria, with Dane DiLiegro and Michael Bekemeier.
“The film is an original horror that taps into the innocence of imaginary friends — and begs the question: Are they really figments of childhood imagination or is something more terrifying lying just beneath? When Jessica moves back into her childhood home with her family, her youngest stepdaughter, Alice, develops an eerie attachment to a stuffed bear named Chauncey she finds in the basement,” reads the official synopsis. “Alice starts playing games with Chauncey that begin playful and become increasingly sinister. As Alice’s behavior becomes more and more concerning, Jessica intervenes only to realize Chauncey is much more than the stuffed toy bear she believed him to be.”
Imaginary was directed by Jeff Wadlow, who co-wrote the screenplay with Greg Erb and Jason Oremland. It was produced by Jason Blum and Jeff Wadlow, with Ryan Turek executive producing. Wadlow is no stranger to the horror genre, after directing 2018’s Truth or Dare starring Lucy Hale, 2020’s Fantasy Island reboot starring Michael Peña, and 2022’s The Curse of Bridge Hollow starring Marlon Wayans.
