Ron Perlman will play a charismatic doctor in an upcoming film, which also stars Teri Polo. The indie thriller, titled Lies We Follow, marks the directorial debut of Aida Gevorgyan.

Ron Perlman and Teri Polo to star in Lies We Follow

Ron Perlman will be seen as Beau, a charismatic doctor who is at the helm of an isolated retreat that promises a cure for the incurable and a new world, according to Deadline. Jamie, a frustrated and desperate mother whose dying daughter has been failed by conventional medicine, follows Beau to his remote compound. However, the deeper she delves into the community, the harder it becomes to distinguish between healing and manipulation.

Teri Polo stars alongside Ron Perlman as Margaret, his lieutenant in the cult-like operation, who also shares a connection to Jamie’s plight. The film will explore themes of desperation, faith, and manipulation, as Jamie struggles to tell apart genuine salvation from dangerous coercion.

Ron Perlman was most recently seen in Apple TV’s Cape Fear and Prime Video’s Fallout. He is best known for playing the titular character in Guillermo del Toro’s Hellboy and Hellboy II: The Golden Army. His upcoming list of movies includes Saurus City, Joe Baby, Come With Me, and Fortitude.

Teri Polo is known for her role as Pamela Focker in the billion-dollar-grossing Meet the Fockers franchise. She was recently seen in The Man in the Window, and is also known for her performances in Northern Exposure, The West Wing, The Fosters, Good Trouble, FBI: International, NCIS, and The Big Leap. Polo will next be seen in Focker-in-Law alongside Robert De Niro, Ben Stiller, and Ariana Grande.

Director Aida Gevorgyan is a graduate of USC Cinematic Arts and has directed several short films, music videos, and commercials. With over 12 years of experience in the industry, Gevorgyan makes her feature directorial debut with the Ron Perlman-starring film.

A release date for Lies We Follow has yet to be announced.
