Milly Alcock recently addressed the prospect of Supergirl crossing paths with and interacting with other DCU heroes and characters like Jimmy Olsen. Launching in theaters this summer, the upcoming film will see the character go on a galaxy-spanning adventure with Krypto. It will also explore her backstory and reveal how she is different from her cousin, Superman.
Milly Alcock reflects on future team-up prospects for Supergirl in DCU
Alcock admitted in a recent interview that she never thought about any possible team-up opportunities for Supergirl in the DCU until now. However, she said she will reflect on it after being asked.
ScreenRant interacted with the Australian actress at CCXP. They asked her if she thought about joining forces with other DC characters, like Jimmy Olsen, with whom the outlet noted Kara Zor-El has a long history, in the future.
“That’s a good question. I didn’t even think of that,” the Sirens star replied. “But now I’m going to be thinking about that. Okay. No, I haven’t. But now I will definitely be.”
Also in the interview, Alcock revealed that she didn’t interact with any previous Supergirl actresses or those who played other female superheroes while preparing for the role. She said that she approached the character in her own unique way. “I think for me, I tackled Kara as her own individual kind of being,” she explained. “I think she is so different from female superheroes that we’ve seen before.”
The House of the Dragon actor elaborated, “And I think she brings a certain rawness and realness. She’s messy, and she’s cheeky, she’s cool.”
Supergirl premieres in theaters on June 26, 2026. It is an adaptation of Tom King and Bilquis Evely’s 2021-22 miniseries, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. Craig Gillespie directed the movie from Ana Nogueira’s screenplay.
“When an unexpected and ruthless adversary strikes too close to home, Kara Zor-El, aka Supergirl, reluctantly joins forces with an unlikely companion on an epic, interstellar journey of vengeance and justice,” the official synopsis reads.
