Apple TV has finally shared the teaser trailer and official release date for Ted Lasso Season 4, the highly anticipated next chapter of the acclaimed sports comedy series. The show is scheduled to return on August 5, 2026.
“Ted returns to Richmond, taking on his biggest challenge yet: coaching a second division women’s football team. Throughout the course of the season, Ted and the team learn to leap before they look, taking chances they never thought they would,” reads the official Season 4 logline.

What happens in the Ted Lasso Season 4 teaser trailer?
The video offers fans a preview of what to expect from the show’s newest installment, which will feature the beloved titular coach returning to Richmond to coach an entirely different team. Following his success with AFC Richmond’s men’s football team, Ted is now set to guide the club’s women’s football team. The teaser trailer also provides our first look at some of the new characters, including the main players of Ted’s new football team.
Ted Lasso Season 4 will feature the return of the show’s main cast: Jason Sudeikis as the titular football coach, Hannah Waddingham as AFC Richmond owner Rebecca Walton, Juno Temple as Keeley Jones, Jeremy Swift as Leslie Higgins, Brett Goldstein as Roy Kent, and Brendan Hunt as Coach Beard. The new installment has also enlisted new cast members, including Tanya Reynolds, Jude Mack, Faye Marsay, Rex Hayes, Aisling Sharkey, Abbie Hern, and Grant Feely, with Tracey Ullman.
The series was developed by Sudeikis, Bill Lawrence, Brendan Hunt, and Joe Kelly, based on the preexisting format and characters from NBC Sports. It is executive produced by Sudeikis, Lawrence, Jeff Ingold, Liza Katzer, Jack Burditt, Goldstein, Sarah Walker, and Phoebe Walsh. Since its debut in 2020, the show has maintained an average Tomatometer score of 90% on Rotten Tomatoes.
