The White Lotus Season 4 cast has officially found a replacement for Helena Bonham Carter, who left the production last week.

Who is replacing Helena Bonham Carter in The White Lotus Season 4?

According to a new report from Deadline, Oscar-winner Laura Dern has officially joined the cast of the show. Dern, a longtime friend and collaborator with series creator Mike White, steps in for Carter, who left the show last week right at the start of production.

Although Dern is stepping in for Carter, she will play an entirely new character, which Deadline notes is being written for her by White. Carter left the show just a week into production, after her character was reported to have not ended up aligning with the tone of the show once filming had begun.

As for Dern’s character, nothing is known about her just yet, but she is believed to be “central to the Season 4 story.” Dern and White have worked together on several projects, including on the 2007 film Year of the Dog, the HBO series Enlightened, and more.

Alongside Dern, the cas for The White Lotus Season 4 also includes Sandra Bernhard, Helena Bonham Carter, Steve Coogan, Caleb Jonte Edwards, Marissa Long, Alexander Ludwig, Chris Messina, AJ Michalka, Ari Graynor, and Dylan Ennis.

While little is known about The White Lotus Season 4, we do know that creator Mike White will be taking audiences to France. The show will once again take place at a White Lotus resort and will likely feature some chaotic adventures for those staying at the establishment.

HBO’s The White Lotus is a satirical comedy anthology show created by Mike White. The first season, which was set in Hawaii, premiered in 2021, while Season 2 took viewers to Sicily in 2022.

The White Lotus Season 3 took place in Thailand, and was largely filmed in Bangkok, Phuket, and Ko Samui. The third season starred Leslie Bibb, Carrie Coon, Walton Goggins, Sarah Catherine Hook, Jason Isaacs, Lalisa Manobal, Michelle Monaghan, Sam Nivola, Lek Patravadi, Parker Posey, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Tayme Thapthimthong, Aimee Lou Wood, Sam Rockwell, Scott Glenn, Natasha Rothwell, and Jon Gries.
