Getting recognition. The post This A-List Actor Could Finally Win His First Emmy Award in 2026 appeared first on ComingSoon.net - Movie Trailers, TV & Streaming News, and More.

Prominent actor Oscar Isaac is the early favorite to win his first Emmy Award at the 2026 Emmys for his performance in Beef Season 2. In the Netflix anthology series, the 47-year-old actor is featured in the role of Joshua Martin, a general manager of a country club who faces increasing debt and a failing marriage. The first season of the show, which stars an entirely different cast, lead to Steven Yeun and Ali Wong winning their respective Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor and Lead Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series in 2024. And now it looks like it could be Oscar Isaac’s turn for an Emmy at the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards, which will air on September 14, 2026, on NBC and Peacock.
Oscar Isaac is the early frontrunner to win a Primetime Emmy Award for Beef Season 2
Oscar Isaac holds an early lead to win at the 2026 Emmys for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series, as based on a Kalshi bet (as of May 5).
However, there are still a few months before nominations for the 2026 Emmys will be announced on July 8, so these odds will likely change by then. Isaac is in close competition with two or three other actors who could take the award too, as noted by the full results of the prediction market below.
- Oscar Isaac (for Beef) – 41%
- Richard Gadd (for Half Man) – 27%
- Matthew Rhys (for The Beast in Me) – 26%
- David Harbour (for DTF St. Louis) – 8%
- Cillian Murphy (for Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man) – Less than 1%
- Michael Shannon (for Death by Lightning) – Less than 1%
- Paul Anthony Kelly (for Love Story) – Less than 1%
- Riz Ahmed (for Bait) – Less than 1%
Several other options that didn’t receive enough bets to get a percentage include Jason Bateman in Black Rabbit, Charlie Hunnam for Monster: The Ed Gein Story, and Jamie Bell for Half Man. This is a surprise given that Jamie Bell is Variety’s pick to win the category in early predictions, with Isaac, Bateman, Hunnam, and Rhys as his fellow nominees.
Delving into the records for the bet, which started on April 10, the Dune actor wasn’t always in the lead. Richard Gadd overtook the top spot for about a week, while Matthew Rhys has remained consistent in his bid.
The second season of Beef has been marked as “Certified Fresh” on Rotten Tomatoes where it has a high 87% critics rating (based on 69 reviews). TV Guide writes that “all four leads are outstanding, and the razor-sharp writing gives them plenty to tear into, but the season belongs to a never better Isaac.” And The Hollywood Reporter says Isaac gave a “prime performance,” saying that he “turns Josh’s accommodating nature into a pathology.”
Despite being called one of the greatest actors in modern history by The New York Times in 2020, Oscar Isaac has not had much recognition in the Primetime Emmy Awards. His only nomination came in 2022 for Scenes from a Marriage in the same category. The actor has never received a nomination at the Academy Awards in spite of his extensive filmography. He did, however, score a Golden Globe win for Best Actor in a miniseries or television film in 2016 for his performance in Show Me A Hero.
Beef’s creator Lee Sung Jin revealed in April that Oscar Isaac and Carey Mulligan used earphones while performing scenes, which unfortunately required an increase in production cost to remove the earphones in post-production.
The actor’s portrayal of Moon Knight in the 2022 Disney+ series was lauded, but he has yet to reprise the superhero role since then. However, the head writer of the series, Jeremy Slater, says that he could return as long as they have a project that interests Isaac, amid rumors that Moon Knight could have a significant role in a Midnight Sons movie.
