Why Elsbeth didn’t air a new episode tonight

Elsbeth’s spot has been taken by Kathy Bates’ Matlock season 2 finale, which stretches upto 2 hours.

Matlock Season 2 Episode 15, titled “Who Are You?,” will air at 9:00 p.m. ET, followed by Episode 16, “Matty Matlock,” at 10:00 p.m. ET. The episodes will focus on the team facing a major challenge as they partner to bring Senior to justice for his part in the Wellbrexa cover-up. They also come to the rescue of an airport ramp operator accused of compromising the safety of a passenger who later died.

It’s common for networks to put their shows on a brief break for several reasons, including an episode re-run, a special presentation or prominent event taking its place, or a possible mid-season hiatus. Most recently, Elsbeth and other programs were disrupted as the network tweaked its schedule for coverage of NCAA March Madness.
