Strike Media and Plaion Pictures have shared a new trailer for the upcoming international debut of Killer Whale. Following its U.S. debut earlier this year, the survival horror thriller movie will finally be available to rent or own on digital platforms in the UK starting on May 18, 2026.
“A gripping survival thriller centred around best friends, Trish Stevens and Maddie Clark, who find themselves locked into a deadly face-off against the ocean’s apex predator: the orca. With a dark cloud of the past hanging over them, will they make it out alive or become a part of the food chain?,” reads the official synopsis.

What happens in the Killer Whale trailer?
The video features Marvel’s Runaways star Virginia Gardner as Maddie, who goes on a trip with her best friend after experiencing a life-shattering tragedy. However, their peaceful retreat soon becomes a terrifying nightmare when they are suddenly attacked by an agitated captive orca. Together, they must find a way to survive and escape the killer whale’s vengeful attacks. Gardner is no stranger to the survival thriller genre, as she previously starred in Lionsgate’s 2022 box office hit Fall.
Killer Whale was directed by Jo-Anne Brechin, who co-wrote the screenplay with Katharine E. McPhee. The cast also includes Mel Jarnson as Trish, Mitchell Hope as Josh, Mia Grunwald as Dana, Aliandra Calabrese, Isaac Crawley as Chad, and more. The R-rated movie was executive-produced by Barry Brooker, Mike Gray, Phil Hunt, Jip Panosot, Jerome Reygner-Kalfon, Compton Ross, Sebastien Semon, and Stan Wertlieb.
Producers were Lionel Hicks, Steve Jaggi, and Kylie Pascoe. The creative team also consisted of cinematographer Shing-Fung Cheung, editor Ahmad Halimi, composer Angela Little, production designer Brad Diebert, costume designer Andrew Cox, and set decorator Tania Marino.
