The cast of Hellhound, an upcoming zombie comedy led by Sam Rockwell, is continuing to expand with new additions. Ron Perlman, known for Blade II, and Martin Starr, recognized for his role in Tom Holland’s Spider-Man films, are among the latest actors to join the project. This further strengthens the film’s ensemble as it moves toward production.
Sam Rockwell’s Hellhound adds Ron Perlman, Martin Starr, and more to cast
The upcoming action-comedy Hellhound, led by Sam Rockwell, has expanded its ensemble with several new additions.
Ron Perlman, Martin Starr, Justin Long, Harry Shum Jr., and Jarrett Austin Brown are the latest additions to the film’s cast, as per Variety. They have joined previously announced names, including Marisa Tomei, Chris Messina, and Ivan Martin. The project was first introduced during the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, where it entered the market for international buyers.
Directed by Zach Golden, who also co-wrote the film’s screenplay with Martin, the project combines action and comedy. The story centers on a former veterinarian whose life takes an unexpected turn when a zombie outbreak spreads through a small New York town. Faced with a rapidly escalating crisis, he is forced to work alongside his ex-wife and her current partner, a police officer, as they attempt to stop a larger threat involving powerful figures at the national level.
The synopsis reads, “It’s a battle of zombies, power, and unresolved feelings — and the fate of millions rests in the hands of a guy who’s already given up.” Production on Hellhound is scheduled to begin later this summer in upstate New York. Production duties are led by Danielle Gasher through Vaneast Pictures, with Bo Youngblood and John Ierardi of Showdown Productions also attached. Legal and business matters are being handled by Paige Williams for Helmet Fire Productions.
Commenting on the film’s expanding cast, Gasher said, “We’re so excited to have these incredible actors join Hellhound. We have a standout ensemble with real blockbuster appeal, and we can’t wait to bring the film to audiences around the world.”
