Zack Snyder shared three posters from Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice on social media, highlighting the DCEU’s Trinity. Originally released in March 2016, it serves as a follow-up to 2013’s Man of Steel, showing the titular heroes fight each other due to Lex Luthor’s manipulations. It also became notable for laying the groundwork for the Justice League movie by introducing Wonder Woman.
Zack Snyder drops Batman v Superman posters with Wonder Woman
Snyder shared three posters from Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice on Instagram. These highlight Ben Affleck’s Batman, Henry Cavill’s Superman, and Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman.
Each has a different color to reflect the heroes’ respective identities. Batman’s has a dark grey background emphasizing his noir roots and the gritty, moody atmosphere he typically operates in.
Meanwhile, Wonder Woman’s has a bright golden yellow, representing her majestic, godly origins as an Amazonian. Finally, Superman’s poster has a rich red background signifying his heat vision and the red color in his outfit.
“Power of the Trinity. Batman. Superman. Wonder Woman. Myth. Strength. Truth,” Snyder captioned his post. As of writing, it has garnered 99.9k likes.
Additionally, it received positive reactions, with many fans calling for the Snyderverse to be restored. Out of the DC Extended Universe trinity, Wonder Woman has the most appearances, while Superman and Batman have the least.
The former appears in major roles in five films: the aforementioned Batman v. Superman, Wonder Woman (2017), Justice League, and the Snyder Cut (2017 and 2021), Wonder Woman 1984, and has cameos in two: Shazam! Fury of the Gods and The Flash (both 2023).
Meanwhile, Superman shows up in Man of Steel, Dawn of Justice, Justice League, and the Snyder cut, and has a cameo in the mid-credits scene of Black Adam. The latter set up a confrontation between Cavill’s hero and Dwayne Johnson’s antihero that would’ve been explored in the future before plans were shelved due to structural changes in Warner Bros. and DC, and James Gunn’s plans to reboot the film franchise.
Finally, outside of Dawn of Justice, Batman appeared in Justice League and the Snyder Cut, as well as The Flash, along with a cameo in 2016’s Suicide Squad.
