A new Spider-Noir trailer was recently dropped by Prime Video, offering another look at the upcoming series, including the show’s iteration of Man-Spider. This notably left many sharing the same sentiment, which they expressed on social media.
Spider-Noir fans react to Man-Spider in new trailer
Spider-Noir dropped a new trailer, which includes a shot of Man-Spider biting Nicolas Cage’s titular hero’s arm. The character’s grotesque appearance elicited horrified reactions from fans. Some of them even understood exactly why Sony and Marvel Studios reportedly didn’t want to include the character in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
“Alright, nvm i see why they said this s—t was too scary for kids to see in brand new day now,” a user wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
Another shared a GIF of Jim Carrey about to barf to express disgust. They captioned it, “My reaction after this.”
“THIS IS EXACTLY WHY I DIDN’T WANT HIM IN BRAND NEW DAY. DEAR LORD,” yet another user remarked.
Elsewhere, another fan shared a GIF of a man watering his eyes to convey their horror at seeing Man-Spider.
A user commented, “Well, to everyone who thought Man-Spider was going to be family-friendly, this is your answer.”
In addition to Man-Spider, the Spider-Noir trailer also shows Brendan Gleeson’s Silvermane, Jack Huston’s Sandman, and Andrew Lewis Caldwell’s Megawatt. It also quickly touches upon the personal tragedy that haunts Ben Reilly. Furthermore, it teases a possible romance between Reilly and Li Jun Li’s Cat Hardy.
Spider-Noir first swings into MGM+ on May 25, 2026. It then drops all eight episodes globally on Amazon Prime Video on May 27. Subscribers will be able to stream it in two distinct color formats: black-and-white and full color.
The show’s synopsis reads, “Ben Reilly, an aging and down on his luck private investigator in 1930s New York, is forced to grapple with his past life as the city’s one and only superhero.”
