The 2027 Oscars is about a year away, but that hasn’t stopped movie buffs from making way-too-early predictions on which movies and actors will win. We’re not even halfway through 2026 yet. That said, many films have already received early award season buzz, be it from showing off impressive trailers, getting nominations for the prestigious Palme d’Or, or having a list of notable directors and actors who have won Oscars in the past. From these hints, many have already put their money on who they think will be nominated for the 99th Academy Awards, which is slated to arrive on March 14, 2027 on ABC and Hulu.

Early predictions for 2027 Oscar nominations

The following are the odds for which films and actors will be 2027 Oscar nominees, as based on bets from the prediction market Kalshi (as of April 20).

Given how early these predictions are, these are very much subject to change, but the percentages below do provide a snapshot on which films, actors, and directors that people already have theirs sights on. Some of these movies might even be delayed to 2027, in which case they will miss the qualification window for the 2027 Oscars.

For the sake of brevity, we have only included entries below that have received above 20% in odds. There are also no bets on Kalshi for multiple Academy Award categories, specifically Best Costume Design, Best Documentary Short, Best Production Design, Best Film Editing, Best Sound, Best Original Song, Best Live Action Short, and Best Animated Short.
