The first trailer for Super Troopers 3 has been released.
The Super Troopers comedy movie franchise began in 2001. The movies directed by Jay Chandrasekhar, a member of the Broken Lizard comedy troupe that is credited with writing the screenplay to the film. Chandrasekhar plays Lieutenant Arcot “Thorny” Ramathorn in Super Troopers, while the cast also includes Paul Soter as Trooper Carl Foster, Steve Lemme as Trooper MacIntyre “Mac” Womack, Erik Stolhanske as Trooper Robbie “Rabbit” Roto, Kevin Heffernan as Trooper Rodney “Rod” Farva, and Brian Cox as Captain John O’Hagen.
Super Troopers wasn’t a massive hit at the box office, as it only made around $23.2 million globally; however, it did find an audience and became a cult film when it was released on physical media.
A sequel, Super Troopers 2, was released in 2018. Chandrasekhar, Soter, Lemme, Stolhanske, Heffernan, and Cox all returned and the movie grossed more than the original did, as it made $32 million globally. It was, however, a critical disappointment, as many prefer the first movie over the second one.
Now, a third Super Troopers is on the way, and a trailer for the new sequel has just been released. Watch it here (watch more trailers and clips):
What do we see in the Super Troopers 3 trailer?
The synopsis for Super Troopers 3 reads, “When Farva’s wildly over-the-top Indian engagement to Thorny’s sister spirals into chaos, the Super Troopers must navigate Thorny’s schemes to break up the relationship, while trying to crack a pernicious new drug ring — all to save the day and maybe the wedding itself.”
Chandrasekhar once again directs the movie. He also reprises his role, as do Heffernan, Lemme, Soter, Stolhanske, and Cox, while Marisa Coughlan, Nat Faxon, Chace Crawford, Andrew Dismukes, Hannah Simone, Iqbal Theba, Sakina Jaffrey, Jon Rudnitsky, and Lisa Gilroy additionally star.
Super Troopers 3 will be released in United States theaters on August 7, 2026, by Searchlight Pictures.
