Stranger Things: Tales from ’85’ has neither been canceled nor renewed for Season 2 by Netflix as yet.

The series debuted on April 23, 2026, and like most new shows, its future hinges on performance indicators such as viewership, audience retention, and overall reception.

Nevertheless, both a showrunner and a cast member have expressed optimism for a second installment. Brooklyn Davey Norstedt, the voice of Eleven, told Radio Times: “That would be amazing. I know they definitely have ideas.”

She further added, “I think, right now, they’re really focused on the launch of Season 1. I think it’s going to be a great one for families to see together. We’re just all very pumped for the first season, and if anything else comes from it, that would be great.”

Showrunner Eric Robles shared the same sentiment, stating, “The hopes are, if we continue with the series, we’ll make sure that we kind of tie it right back to the beginning of Season 3 [of the original show].”

Season 1 of the series was reportedly in development since around 2022. Considering the labor-intensive nature of animation, a new installment would probably not be anticipated until 2028, per past trends.
