Tyler Perry has shared a major update about one of his shows. The update follows the show’s renewal earlier this year, offering fans a clearer picture of its production status.

Perry, who serves as the writer and director of the series, revealed that Beauty in Black is set to begin shooting Season 4. He announced it on his social media handles with a behind-the-scenes trailer from the set. It showed the cast and crew at work before the day’s shooting could commence.

What to know about Tyler Perry’s Beauty in Black Season 4

Season 4 of Beauty in Black was renewed by Netflix ahead of the release of Season 3. Production for the project, which will be the franchise’s last installment, is currently underway in Atlanta. The returning cast for Season 4 has not yet been announced. Some reports have speculated that the upcoming season could feature major character departures or deaths, though no such developments have been confirmed.

As 2026 has already featured two separate batches of the show, another batch this year appears unlikely. Tyler Perry is known for his very short production cycles, having allegedly shot Season 3 of the show in just six days. If that is the case, ahead of any official announcement, fans can expect the next edition of Beauty in Black to land sometime in 2027.

The official synopsis of Season 4 reads, “In the bloody aftermath of a devastating attack that leaves fates uncertain, the fight for control of the Bellarie empire ignites a ruthless battle of revenge, betrayal, and hostile takeovers. As hidden motives surface, marriages unravel, and power plays escalate, the Bellaries must settle old scores, protect what’s theirs, or risk losing everything in a war where not everyone will survive.”

Netflix has not announced a release date for Beauty in Black Season 4.
