Nicholas Galitzine has had a busy but disappointing year. The post The Mosquito Bowl’s RT Score Results in Another Career Low for He-Man’s Nicholas Galitzine appeared first on ComingSoon.net - Movie Trailers, TV & Streaming News, and More.

Nicholas Galitzine has had a busy year, taking on two very different roles in 2026. He played He-Man in Masters of the Universe and now stars in the World War II drama The Mosquito Bowl. However, his latest movie has received a poor response from critics.
The Mosquito Bowl, directed by Peter Berg, currently has a 31% score on Rotten Tomatoes. That makes it the lowest-rated movie of Galitzine’s career on the review site.
The film follows college football players who join the Marine Corps after Japan’s attack on Pearl Harbor. Before the Battle of Okinawa, they take part in the Mosquito Bowl, a football game played by military personnel. The story is based on Buzz Bissinger’s book, The Mosquito Bowl: A Game of Life and Death in World War II.
Nicholas Galitzine’s career continues to take shape with new projects
Although The Mosquito Bowl has struggled with critics, Galitzine has several other projects in his filmography. Earlier this year, he appeared in The Sheep Detectives, which earned a 95% Certified Fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes. He also played Prince Adam in the upcoming Masters of the Universe movie.
Galitzine is also set to return as Prince Henry in Red, White & Royal Wedding, the sequel to Red, White & Royal Blue. Prime Video has not announced a release date for the film.
For The Mosquito Bowl, Galitzine plays John McLaughry, a real-life college football player. The role required him to make a quick physical change after finishing Masters of the Universe.
During an interview with ComicBook.com, he revealed that he had only three weeks between the two projects. “I had about three weeks between finishing shooting (Masters of the Universe) and starting (The Mosquito Bowl),” Galitzine said.
Bill Skarsgård also stars as real-life figure Bob Baumann. The cast includes Ray Nicholson, Tom Francis, Brent Comer and Pat McAfee. Skarsgård said he studied Baumann’s life and used Bissinger’s book and Berg’s screenplay to understand the character.
Berg directed the film and co-wrote it with Mark L. Smith. The Mosquito Bowl is now playing in theaters and will arrive on Netflix on November 25, 2026.
