Zack Snyder has revealed that discussions have taken place about extending his DC storyline beyond live-action films. The filmmaker confirmed that conversations have taken place about potentially continuing the SnyderVerse in animated form. While no official continuation has been announced, Snyder’s comments have sparked significant anticipation among fans.
Zack Snyder has talked about continuing SnyderVerse with animation or comics
Zack Snyder has indicated that the future of his DC storyline may not be limited strictly to live-action filmmaking. During a 10th anniversary conversation for Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, Snyder said he has explored the possibility of adapting his planned follow-ups to Justice League into formats such as animation or comic books.
In an interview with Josh Horowitz, Snyder was asked whether he had seriously considered turning his outlines for Justice League 2 and Justice League 3 into an animated feature or a comic series if given the necessary support. He responded that the idea has been explored. “No, no, we’ve absolutely talked about it quite a bit and sure yeah,” he said.
The filmmaker added that today’s entertainment landscape allows for a wide range of creative approaches, even suggesting that it could become a Broadway musical. He said, “I mean we live in a world where all that’s possible and whatever form it would take, Broadway musical,” before adding, “you know that would be amazing.”
In the same interview, Snyder was asked what he would say to fans who continue to push for a full continuation of his original arc. He stopped short of dismissing the idea entirely. “I would never say that there’s no way,” he said. Snyder’s remarks come as fans continue to campaign online for the revival of his DC storyline.
In the last few months, he has shared unseen images from his past productions, including photographs featuring Henry Cavill as Superman, Amber Heard as Mera and Ben Affleck as Batman, along with additional black-and-white stills from earlier shoots. The posts have frequently drawn comments from fans, asking for restoration of the SnyderVerse.
