Michael Baldwin and Lauren Fenmore have been giving fans all the feels on The Young and the Restless for over 20 years. Together, the characters have brought drama, romance, and many unforgettable moments. Recently, the actors playing these roles, Christian LeBlanc and Tracey Bregman, have been hinting that this iconic duo might be heading into darker territory.

Tracey Bregman says Michael and Lauren ‘could go back bad’ in The Young and the Restless

The December 9 episode of The Young and the Restless raises a glass to 20 years of Michael and Lauren with flashbacks and playful commentary from LeBlanc and Bregman.

While it’s a feel-good, champagne moment, both stars admit their characters’ “complex and pretty dark histories of their own families” could resurface at any time. LeBlanc warns fans that old mischief might still sneak in, even when the couple seems happy and settled.

Bregman points out that even though Michael and Lauren are seen as the heroes now, their “bad characters” are never far behind. She says, “The characters could go back bad like that,” keeping the door wide open for future drama. ( via Soaps.com)

LeBlanc adds that Michael’s love for Lauren drives him. He adds that interfering with that bond could push him over the edge, maybe even into extreme measures. He says, “We come from a dark place, and from Michael’s point of view, she keeps him sane.”

The actors also give credit to the show’s writing and legacy for shaping their characters. LeBlanc notes that Michael and Lauren’s staying power comes from the careful, step-by-step crafting by the late William J. Bell. “We were given these parts, Bill Bell started it off, and they have built our history step by step.”

Off-screen, LeBlanc and Bregman’s friendship mirrors just like Michael and Lauren’s on-screen sparks. Bregman laughs, “I always say I won the co-star lottery, and I think that’s what people pick up. There’s so much love and respect and fun.”

The Young and the Restless has been serving up drama since 1973, quickly becoming a CBS staple. Set in the cutthroat world of Genoa City, the show thrives on steamy romances and ruthless corporate battles that keep fans hooked. The series features legendary actors like Eric Braeden, Tracey E. Bregman, Melody Thomas Scott, and Peter Bergman.
