Marvel Studios introduced a key supporting character from Wonder Man in a newly released teaser. The preview features the on-screen debut of Simon Williams’s brother. In Marvel Comics, the character is portrayed as a villain, though the series does not fully define his role.
Demetrius Grosse’s Erik Williams appears in Wonder Man teaser
Demetrius Grosse’s Erik Williams appears briefly in a new teaser for Wonder Man, confirming the character’s presence in the upcoming Marvel Studios series. The teaser includes dialogue from Erik Williams addressing his brother Simon, marking the first official on screen look at Grosse in the role.
Marvel Studios shared the teaser on X (formerly Twitter) with the caption, “Breathe deep. Keep control.” In the same post, the studio confirmed, “Wonder Man, an 8-episode series, streams January 27 at 6PM PT only on DisneyPlus.” The promotional footage shows Simon Williams as a Hollywood actor. He becomes involved in a reboot of a superhero film titled Wonder Man.
The series introduces the Doorman Clause, a rule that bans superpowers in film productions. This restriction draws the attention of the Department of Damage Control to Simon. In Marvel Comics, Erik Williams appears as the supervillain Grim Reaper.
He traditionally serves as Wonder Man’s primary adversary. The teaser does not show Erik in costume. It also does not explicitly identify him as Grim Reaper. His appearance lacks overt villain imagery.
In a 2024 interview with ComicBook.com, Grosse stated, “I think people are going to be intrigued by the dynamic between Simon Williams and Eric Williams as much as they’re excited about the dynamic between Grim Reaper and Wonder Man. This series is gonna be a very, very different kind of show, but pleasantly so.”
Destin Daniel Cretton and Andrew Guest created the series. The cast includes Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Simon Williams and Ben Kingsley as Trevor Slattery, reprising his role from earlier Marvel Cinematic Universe films, alongside Arian Moayed, X Mayo, Zlatko Burić, Olivia Thirlby, Byron Bowers, and Ed Harris.
Disney+ will stream the series exclusively starting January 27, 2026.
