Ben Kingsley’s MCU character storms out of an interview in a new video promoting the upcoming Wonder Man show.
Marvel Television’s Wonder Man is a forthcoming superhero show created by Destin Daniel Cretton (Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) and Andrew Guest. The series stars Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Simon Williams/Wonder Man, while Kinglsey reprises his Marvel role as Trevor Slattery.
What happens in the Wonder Man video?
In the Wonder Man video, Kingsley’s Trevor character is being interviewed by TCM’s Ben Mankiewicz for a fictional podcast called “Bad Actors.” While Trevor is excited to talk about the new projects that he’s working on, he gets frustrated when Mankiewicz repeatedly asks him about his time in prison and if he has any regrets over portraying The Mandarin, as was seen in Iron Man 3. Eventually, Trevor cuts the interview off and storms off.

The synopsis for the Wonder Man show reads, “Aspiring Hollywood actor Simon Williams is struggling to get his career off the ground. During a chance meeting with Trevor Slattery, an actor whose biggest roles may be well behind him, Simon learns legendary director Von Kovak is remaking the superhero film Wonder Man. These two actors at opposite ends of their careers doggedly pursue life-changing roles in this film as audiences get a peek behind the curtain of the entertainment industry.”
Arian Moayed, X Mayo, Zlatko Burić, Olivia Thirlby, and Byron Bowers star in the series alongside Abdul-Mateen II and Slattery. Guest and Cretton both serve as executive producers alongside Kevin Feige, Stephen Broussard, Jonathan Schwartz, and Brad Winderbaum.
Marvel Studios’ Wonder Man will premiere on Disney+ on January 27, 2026, as part of Phase 6 of the MCU. The series will have eight episodes in total.
