Why Chicago PD Season 13 didn’t release a new episode today

Chicago PD is currently on hiatus, giving Windy City heroes a breather from their crime-fighting duties.

After an intense start to February 2026, Chicago PD Season 13 is on a break that is longer than usual, but not unexpected, given that the Winter Olympics are on NBC, and it’s a common scheduling adjustment. The season’s last Chicago PD episode aired on February 4, and the next one won’t be until March 4, with a crossover event featuring Chicago Fire and Chicago Med.

However, this year’s break has a specific reason tied to the Olympics coverage. NBC is dedicating its primetime slot to the 2026 Winter Olympics, pushing Chicago Fire, Chicago PD, and Chicago Med to the sidelines tonight. Instead, viewers can catch the Olympics live from Milan, which will take over the 8-11 PM ET block.
