The mid-season finale of Chicago Med Season 11 gave fans a heart-pounding cliffhanger. Bringing back the villainous Devin Carter, played by Jack Falahee, the events of the show’s finale leave fans with a critical question. Is Dr. Caitlin Lenox going to die?
Let’s take a look at what went down at the end of the November 12 episode of Chicago Med Season 11.
Does Dr. Caitlin Lenox die in Chicago Med Season 11’s mid-season finale?
Chicago Med brought back a patient from Episode 4 titled “Family First.” In that episode, viewers saw Dr. Caitlin Lenox treating Faye Carter, who was a victim of domestic abuse. Lenox confronts Faye’s husband Devin Carter and makes it clear to him that she knows what’s going on. However, Faye leaves the hospital and returns home with her husband, refusing any help when offered.
In the mid-season finale, Devin returns to Gaffney to get treated, and seems to be lying about his injuries. Lenox, worried about Faye, decides to take matters into her own hands. She goes to Faye’s house to check on her and, to her shock, finds her at the bottom of the basement stairs. While her condition doesn’t seem to be fatal, she appears to have serious injuries. Lenox, searching for cell service, makes her way upstairs only to hear a door slamming. With the fear of Devin returning home, she realizes that it was just a back door making sound due to the storm outside. However, just as she turns around, she sees Devin standing with a pistol in his hand.
The episode ends with Devin striking Lenox unconcious and leaving fans with one heck of a cliffhanger. As a result, some viewers believe Dr. Lenox might meet a tragic end, one not caused by her illness. It does seem unlikely that she’ll die at Devin’s hands; however, Lenox was diagnosed with Prions’ Disease at the end of Season 10. This concluded that her death is inevitable and would likely take place sometime during Season 11.
