As of now, it’s not confirmed whether Stefan is still alive in Days of Our Lives.
In the recent episode, Peter explained the entire scheme of the DiMera kidnappings. He shared how it all began when he realized that Stefan had passed away. Furthermore, he was inspired by Vivian’s actions and ended up burying the family alive. Peter was seemingly supported by Vivian in his plan, and she sent her henchman to hire Liam for the abduction.
During their investigation, Rafe and Eli found live footage from the latter’s office at Vivian’s house, similar to the one in the crypt. So, she might be the one monitoring the kidnapping from her residence. Moreover, Peter’s statements have raised suspicions of Stefan’s comeback. Peter could have found Stefan alive with Vivian. However, Vivian told Rafe and Eli how Dimitri took advantage of her sensitive situation after her son died from a heart problem.
Vivian was probably faking empathy to prove she was mourning her son, as Dimitri never visited her. Stefan might be alive, and his mother might have swapped his body with his twin, Jake. Jake’s dead body can be used to prove Stefan is no more, especially the DNA sample. It is possible that Vivian kidnapped Stefan to keep him away from Gabi, as she is not fond of her. While Vivian is expected to get exposed, she seems confident about her plan working.
