ComingSoon is debuting an exclusive Tron: Ares video, in which several of the stars reveal some of their favorite filming moments ahead of the film’s Disney+ release. Tron: Ares begins streaming on Disney+ on January 7, 2026.
What are some of Tron: Ares’ stars favorite moments?
In the new video, several stars from the film, including Jared Leto, Greta Lee, Evan Peters, and Gillian Anderson all talk about some of their favorite behind-the-scenes moments from the movie. Moments include Leto being surprised by some of the more practical effects used on the film, including the light discs, bikes, and more.
For Evan Peters, his favorite moments included the stunts used in the movie, while Anderson jokingly talked about slapping Peters. For Lee, she mentioned doing a stunt that saw her fall into the grid, which involved dropping down off of a building to achieve.

Alongside Jared Leto, Tron: Ares also features a star-studded cast that includes Greta Lee, Evan Peters, Hasan Minhaj, Jodie Turner-Smith, Arturo Castro, Cameron Monaghan, Gillian Anderson, Jeff Bridges, and Sarah Desjardins.
“Get ready for the electrifying action and adventure of Tron: Ares. When a highly sophisticated Program named Ares is sent from the digital world into the real world on a dangerous mission, it marks humankind’s first encounter with AI beings,” reads the movie’s official synopsis.
Tron: Ares will also be the latest film available in IMAX Enhanced on Disney+, featuring IMAX’s exclusive expanded aspect ratio for all Disney+ subscribers, ensuring that the filmmakers’ creative intent is fully preserved for a more immersive viewing experience at home. Subscribers with certified TVs and AV receivers can also experience IMAX Enhanced sound powered by DTS, featuring the full dynamic range of the original cinematic mix.
Tron: Ares is the third official feature film in Disney’s Tron franchise following 1982’s Tron and 2010’s Tron: Legacy. The film is directed by Joachim Rønning, who previously made 2019’s Maleficent: Mistress of Evil and 2024’s Young Woman and the Sea. He also co-directed 2017’s Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales with Espen Sandberg. The script for the film is written by Jesse Wigutow.
