ComingSoon is debuting an exclusive trailer for Tony Odyssey, the upcoming surrealist Brazilian epic from director Thales Banzai. This comes ahead of the movie’s world premiere at Slamdance Film Festival in Los Angeles on February 23, 2026.
“Trapped in a grimy roadside bar, Tony, a young Black man, works endlessly to pay off his debt to the ruthless Mr. Casio. Cleaning, fixing, cooking-his life is a cycle of servitude and threats, with no way out. Until Ivy arrives. A longtime friend turned accomplice, she has a plan: rob the bar and escape. Tony is her key—he knows where Casio hides his weapons and the powerful Drug that fuels his operation,” reads the movie’s official synopsis.
“But escape isn’t a place: it’s freedom itself. With their no-way-back heist behind them, they consume the stolen Drug, plunging them into a reality-shattering odyssey. Through fractured memories, a surreal metropolis, and a confrontation with God himself, Tony seeks the ultimate answer: Why is his life the way it is? But he doesn’t just want answers. He wants change. And to rewrite his fate, he must first endure the journey.”
