The Thunderbolts* post-credit scene has broken an MCU record.
Thunderbolts* releases in United States theaters this coming weekend. The Marvel film is directed by Jake Schreier and stars Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, Wyatt Russell as U.S. Agent, Olga Kurylenko as Taskmaster, Lewis Pullman as Sentry, Geraldine Viswanathan as Mel, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine.
What MCU record does the Thunderbolts* post-credit scene break?
According to IGN, Thunderbolts* has a post-credit scene that is two minutes and 54 seconds long. This is the longest post-credit scene for an MCU project, apart from the Rogers: The Musical sequence that was featured in the Hawkeye television show.
Spoilers regarding the content of the post-credit scene have leaked, meaning MCU fans who want to go into the movie surprised should be careful over the coming days. It has already been confirmed that Pugh, Stan, Russell, Pullman, Harbour, and John-Kamen will all star in Avengers: Doomsday, which is currently in production and has a May 2026 release date.
“In Thunderbolts*, Marvel Studios assembles an unconventional team of antiheroes — Yelena Belova, Bucky Barnes, Red Guardian, Ghost, Taskmaster, and John Walker,” the synopsis for the movie reads. “After finding themselves ensnared in a death trap set by Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, these disillusioned castoffs must embark on a dangerous mission that will force them to confront the darkest corners of their pasts. Will this dysfunctional group tear themselves apart, or find redemption and unite as something much more before it’s too late?”
Kevin Feige produces Thunderbolts*, while Louis D’Esposito, Brian Chapek, and Jason Tamez serve as executive producers. The screenplay comes from Eric Pearson and Joanna Calo, based on a story by Pearson.
Thunderbolts* releases in United States theaters on May 2, 2025.
