The Lincoln Lawyer is moving forward with its fifth season as production begins and new details start to surface. Early updates hint at casting changes and a storyline that will continue to expand the show’s central narrative.
The Lincoln Lawyer Season 5 starts production, gets plot and cast details
According to Deadline, The Lincoln Lawyer Season 5 has officially begun production with major cast additions and story details confirmed.
Eight new recurring actors have joined: Diane Guerrero as Natalia, Teresa Maria as Tina Perez, Richard Cabral as Benny Perez, Steve Howey as Brian Cunningham, Patty Guggenheim as Allison Finch, Corbin Bernsen as Richard Finch, Chris Diamantopoulos as Frank Silver, and Iker Garcia as Rafa Wagner. Cobie Smulders joins the main cast as a series regular.
Season 5 will feature 10 episodes and draws inspiration from Resurrection Walk, the seventh novel in Michael Connelly’s book series. The story follows Mickey Haller as his half-sister, Emi, arrives and asks him to help free a wrongfully convicted woman. The narrative centers on “a grueling habeas petition to overturn a six-year-old murder conviction” as deeper forces begin to emerge.
The season explores “blood ties and buried secrets,” with Mickey confronting both legal and personal challenges. As he investigates the case, “the more nefarious the forces arrayed against him become,” complicating his pursuit of justice. The storyline continues from Season 4, where Mickey previously avoided a wrongful conviction.
Lorna, Izzy, and Cisco take on high-profile challenges as the stakes rise for the supporting team. The returning recurring guest cast includes Neve Campbell, Krista Warner, Angelica Maria, and Gigi Zumbado. The show has spent 29 weeks on Netflix’s Global Top 10 and recorded 171 million views since 2023.
David E. Kelley created the series, while Ted Humphrey developed it and co-showruns alongside Dailyn Rodriguez. A+E Studios produces the series.
