Eric Kripke shares major The Boys Season 5 update
The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke shared a major update on Season 5, confirming that post-production is nearly complete ahead of its April 8 premiere. In an Instagram post, Kripke wrote, “So today was the final sound mix for #TheBoys series finale. We still have a handful of VFX shots to complete, but we’re pretty much done.” He described the milestone as marking the end of the series’ production journey.
Kripke reflected on the experience, stating, “It’s been an incredible f—ing journey, best job of my life. I’m so grateful to the cast and crew (and the sound and post production geniuses pictured here).” He added, “The best part of filmmaking isn’t the film, it’s the making. Cooking up crazy s— with the writers, talking through character with the actors, logistically planning giant penises and dead whales with the crew, and adding blood and music and love in post.” Kripke tagged @primevideo, @sonypicturestv, and @theboystv in the post.
He continued, “Solving problems together and laughing a lot. I’ll miss the show, but far more, I’ll miss the people I made the show with. All superstars to a person, and all loved the show, you can’t ask for more.” Kripke concluded his message with, “You guys have my love and gratitude forever. Can’t wait for everyone to see what we cooked up. April 8. P.S. Yes, it says F— Supes in balloons behind us.”
Cast and collaborators responded in the comments, including Seth Rogen, who posted fire emojis. Karen Fukuhara wrote, “My heart !!!,” while Erin Moriarty commented, “immeasurable amount of gratitude and love for you/everyone/everything @theboystv related. forever. x.”
