Ross Duffer is raising the anticipation for Stranger Things Season 5 Volume 2, claiming that the upcoming episodes will push the series into a darker and far more intense direction. With the final season nearing its conclusion, Duffer’s latest remarks have sparked excitement and apprehension among viewers.
Here’s what Duffer said about Stranger Things Season 5 Vol 2.
Ross Duffer says Episode 6 is the ‘biggest episode’ of Stranger Things Season 5 Vol. 2
Ross Duffer has offered new details about Stranger Things Season 5 Vol 2. He confirmed that work on Volume 2 is complete and that three new episodes will arrive on Christmas Day. In a post shared with fans on Instagram, the co-creator outlined the titles of the upcoming chapters and described the creative direction behind each one. He wrote, “Chapters Five, Six and Seven: locked, mixed, scored, colored… Volume Two is DONE.”
Duffer explained that Episode 5, titled “Shock Jock,” continues the story immediately after the events of “Sorcerer.” Revealing the director of the episode, he wrote, “Frank Darabont is back, but he flexes very different muscles on this one than he did on ‘Turnbow Trap’— it’s far darker, and far scarier.”
Duffer then highlighted Episode 6, titled “Escape From Camazotz,” directed by Shawn Levy. He noted that the cast’s work in this episode has repeatedly moved the creative team. “It’s the biggest episode of the three— and the performances make us cry every time we watch it,” he wrote.
The final chapter arriving in Volume 2 is “The Bridge…,” directed by Ross Duffer, Matt Duffer, and Levy together. While he avoided describing specific plot elements, Ross stated that the episode carries significant emotional impact. He noted, “Don’t want to say too much, but aside from the finale, it’s probably the most emotional chapter of the season.”
The creator concluded with, “It’s gonna be a long six day wait for the finale…”
Netflix has released Volume 1 of Stranger Things Season 5, with Volume 2 set to arrive on December 25.
