The first trailer for the Spider-Noir show has been released.
Sony Pictures Television’s Spider-Noir show is set to premiere on MGM+ and Prime Video this spring. Coming from co-showrunners Steve Lightfoot and Oren Uziel, the series serves as a spin-off to the Spider-Man alternate universes that were first established in 2018’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

What happens in the Spider-Noir trailer?
The Spider-Noir trailer sees Nicolas Cage — who is playing Ben Reilly rather than Peter Parker, and who is simply called “The Spider” instead of Spider-Man — investigating a noir-style mystery. The cast of the show also includes Lamorne Morris as Robbie Robertson, Li Jun Li as Cat Hardy, Karen Rodriguez as Janet, Jack Huston as Flint Marko/Sandman, and Brendan Gleeson as Silvermane, among others.
The synopsis series reads, “Spider-Noir is a live-action series based on the Marvel comic Spider-Man Noir. Spider-Noir tells the story of Ben Reilly (Nicolas Cage), a seasoned, down-on-his-luck private investigator in 1930s New York, who is forced to grapple with his past life, following a deeply personal tragedy, as the city’s one and only superhero.”
Per a Prime Video press release, a description of Cage’s character further reads, “Back in the day, Ben Reilly was the superhero known as The Spider. After a personal tragedy, he stepped away from his heroic alter ego. Only an extraordinary case could call this down-on-his-luck private investigator to drop the ordinary man act and put his mask back on.”
Abraham Popoola, Lukas Haas, Cameron Britton, Cary Christopher, Michael Kostroff, Scott MacArthur, Joe Massingill, Whitney Rice, Amanda Schull, Andrew Caldwell, Amy Aquino, Andrew Robinson, and Kai Caster also star in the series, which will be available to watch in both black-and-white and color.
Harry Bradbeer directs the first two episodes and serves as an executive producer alongside Uziel, Lightfoot, Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, Amy Pascal, Aditya Sood, Dan Shear, Cage, and Pavlina Hatoupis.
Spider-Noir premieres on MGM+ on May 25, 2026, before it then will be released globally on Prime Video on May 27.
