Actor Colman Domingo has addressed whether or not he’ll ever join the live-action MCU.
Domingo voices the character Norman Osborn in Marvel Studios‘ Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man show. This series is not set within the main MCU; meaning, the whole thing takes place in an alternate timeline. The second season of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is expected to arrive at some point in 2026.
There’s been much speculation about Domingo joining the live-action MCU at some point; either as the Sacred Timeline’s version of Norman Osborn or as a different character entirely, as many believe he’d make a good Professor X/Charles Xavier, who is an X-Men character.
What did Colman Domingo say about joining the MCU?
Speaking with MTV’s Josh Horowitz on the red carpet for the Golden Globes, Domingo was asked if there was any update he could share about being part of the live-action MCU.
“Listen, I had one beautiful meeting with Kevin [Feige],” Domingo said. “Nothing since, but we’ll see. I think we’re always waiting — we’re waiting for the right thing. I know that I am. I feel like I would love to be a part of the Marvel universe, but I feel like I want it to be very intentional and specific. I want to know, like, exactly what I’m doing. I don’t want to just do anything.”
Beyond Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, Domingo has starred in episodes of TV shows such as Fear the Walking Dead, The Knick, The Madness, The Four Seasons, and Euphoria, the latter of which is returning for its third and final season later this year.
Domingo has been nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actor for 2023’s Rustin and 2023’s Sing Sing, while his filmography further includes 2012’s Lincoln, 2013’s 42, 2014’s Selma, 2018’s If Beale Street Could Talk, 2020’s Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, 2021’s Candyman, 2023’s The Color Purple, 2025’s The Running Man, and more.
