Marvel fans finally have their first glimpse of Peter Parker’s closest friends after the world-altering events of No Way Home. The marketing campaign for Spider-Man: Brand New Day kicked off on March 17 with an unconventional trailer rollout. And the scattered clips confirm that Ned Leeds (Jacob Batalon) and MJ (Zendaya) are very much part of the story, even if they no longer remember their best friend.

MJ and Spider-Man reunite in Brand New Day ahead of trailer

The major reveal comes from Australia-based cosplayers, @biancabellacosplay
and @christianpillirone, who shared a clip showing MJ and Spider-Man face-to-face against a city backdrop. The web-slinger seemingly looks defeated as she watches him, which is a loaded moment given that MJ may have no memory of the man behind the mask.

This comes as confirmation that Zendaya’s character and Holland’s Peter Parker will share screen time, even if she doesn’t recognize him. The emotional weight of No Way Home’s conclusion hinged on MJ and Ned forgetting Peter entirely, and these clips suggest Spider-Man: Brand New Day won’t immediately undo that heartbreaking spell.

The footage shows Peter Parker sitting in a restaurant, watching Ned walk past him without any recognition. The heartbreaking moment reinforces the lingering consequences of the spell that erased Peter Parker from everyone’s memory, including his closest friend.

Another clip, shared by an Indian influencer, @ashishchanchlani, shows Peter Parker receiving the key to the city on television. At home on their couch, Ned and MJ watch the broadcast with deadpan expressions, suggesting they’re watching a stranger, exactly as No Way Home left them.
