Sophie Turner is fully embracing the role of Lara Croft, with new set videos and photos showing the actress in the midst of high-octane action sequences. Turner plays the lead in Prime Video’s upcoming Tomb Raider series.

Production is currently underway in Surrey, England, where the Game of Thrones star was spotted wielding dual pistols, engaging in intense gunfights, and performing physically demanding stunts, which is evidence of months of grueling training.

Recent Sophie Turner’s Lara Croft set videos recorded by Daily Mail offer the clearest look yet at the streamer’s ambitious adaptation. In the clips, Turner’s Lara is seen firing her trademark twin pistols at unseen enemies. Shen then tosses a grenade through a small window. It is a classic combat tactic straight from the video game source material.

Furthermore, the Tomb Raider set photo gallery reveals Turner’s reimagined costume for the character. Moving away from Lara’s traditional tank top and shorts, the British actress sports a tactical outfit. It consists of khaki cargo trousers, a brown jumper layered with a blue waistcoat, and a brown holster belt.

She completed the practical ensemble with black knee-high boots, along with a knife tucked into the top and a small backpack. Moreover, her long hair was styled in a neat braid, channeling the adventurer’s utilitarian aesthetic.

Fleabag creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge serves as writer, creator, and executive producer on the project. Tomb Raider cast also includes Alien icon Sigourney Weaver, White Lotus star Jason Isaacs, and Celebrity Traitors contestant Celia Imrie.

Sophie Turner follows in the footsteps of Angelina Jolie and Alicia Vikander, who previously played Lara Croft in film adaptations. The release date hasn’t been announced yet.
