Sister Wives’ Meri Brown recently made some big revelations on the January 18 special, where she revealed that she chipped in a significant part for Kody and Robyn Brown’s two-acre Arizona home. While disagreements continue over whether it was a loan or a gift, Meri believes she is still owed money from Kody and Robyn.
Meri Brown and ex-husband Kody go toe-to-toe over borrowed money fiasco
The recent special of Sister Wives that dropped on January 18, 2026, had many big revelations. This included the wild drama surrounding the sale of the family’s Coyote Pass property in Flagstaff, Arizona.
Meri Brown previously sold the five-bedroom home where she lived outside Sin City. “She wanted all the money from it,” Kody said about this sale (via E! News), “That’s not how our divorce decree went. It was 50/50.”
However, instead of taking the profits, Meri gave the sum to Kody so that he could purchase the two-acre Arizona home with Robyn. “With my contribution, whatever words he wants to put to it,” Meri explained on the special, “They bought the house that was for them and then, you know, it doubled in value when they sold it. Yay, them.” There still exists a debate between them about whether the sum of money was a loan or a gift.
“When we went to parceling out the property, there were agreements that hadn’t been settled,” Kody explained, “Janelle and Meri had gifted money to me and Robyn to purchase Robyn’s house. Meri’s house, the proceeds from her house in Las Vegas, were half mine, OK? And so they wanted their 25 percent of Coyote Pass, but I had put extra money in it.”
Ultimately, they were able to strike a deal with Janelle, but not with Meri.
Meri said about the Las Vegas home, “I mean, sure, it would make sense that I would get it…because, you know, I’m the only one who lived in it for the majority of the time that we owned it. And I’m the one who made all the payments. But you know what? Your name was on it. So you can have half of it. Like literally, that’s how I felt. I’m not going to fight that.”
Meri also revealed that she did not intend to reveal her benefactor status in public. “This is something that I have consented to never talk about,” she added. “But we’ll talk about it now,” she concluded.
So, the debate about whether Kody and Robyn owe Meri money continues.
