The Scrubs revival series is set to premiere next week, and ahead of its release, reviews for the new show have begun to pour in, praising the revived comedy.
What are the Scrubs reviews saying?
On Rotten Tomatoes, the Scrubs revival debuted to an 83% score, a positive mark for the upcoming series. Many reviews praised the show’s combination of comedy and nostalgia, and for how it handled bringing back so many iconic stars from the past.
TheWrap’s Jennifer Keishin Armstrong praised this combo, noting the show “hits the right combination of nostalgia and update, standing among the few reboots that do justice to their originals without marring their legacy.” TV Line’s Ryan Schwartz also had positive things to say about the show, saying “yes, the original theme song is back. But more importantly, so is the heart.”
Daily Telegraph’s Michael Hogan said the show is “the best such resurrection so far,” while TV Guide’s Liam Matthews said it’s “about as good as a Scrubs revival could be.”
The Scrubs revival is set to premiere on February 25, 2026, on ABC and Hulu. The show is led by returning stars Zach Braff, Donald Faison, Sarah Chalke, Judy Reyes, and John C. McGinley, all of whom will step back into their iconic roles as doctors and nurses for the show.
“ABC’s new Scrubs will follow JD (Braff) and Turk (Faison), who scrub in together for the first time in a long time- medicine has changed, interns have changed, but their bromance has stood the test of time,” Deadline further reports. “Characters new and old navigate the waters of Sacred Heart with laughter, heart, and some surprises along the way.”
The revival is created and executive-produced by Bill Lawrence of Doozer Productions, with Aseem Batra set as the reboot’s showrunner. In addition to leading the cast, Braff, Faison, and Chalke are also serving as executive producers alongside Jeff Ingold and Liza Katzer for Doozer Productions and Batra. It is a production by 20th Television.
