Scream 7 could wind up having one of the franchise’s best openings at the box office, according to some recent projections.
Scream 7 is being released in United States theaters later this month by Paramount Pictures. Directed by Kevin Williamson, the new Scream sequel will see Neve Campbell once again reprise her iconic role as Sidney Prescott.
How much is Scream 7 projected to make opening weekend?
Per Deadline, Scream 7 is currently tracking to have a “mid” $30 million opening. If it hits that, it would be the second-highest opening in the franchise following 2023’s Scream VI, which made $44.4 million during its opening weekend.
The article notes, “Currently, Scream 7 is great with the 17-34 bunch and multicultural audiences across definite interest and first choice. Tickets don’t go on sale until Monday after the pic’s pre-Game Super Bowl spot. Advance ticket sales are typically a better indication of demand. Right now, tracking has Scream 7 coming on higher than Scream VI, The Conjuring: Last Rites ($84M), and Final Destination: Bloodlines ($51.6M) in First Choice. There’s an argument that with lower-grossing movies like Send Help and Iron Lung presently on tracking, most forecasts are inflated.”
The official synopsis for the movie reads, “When a new Ghostface killer emerges in the quiet town where Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) has built a new life, her darkest fears are realized as her daughter (Isabel May) becomes the next target. Determined to protect her family, Sidney must face the horrors of her past to put an end to the bloodshed once and for all.”
In addition to Campbell and May, the cast includes Courteney Cox as Gale Weathers, Jasmin Savoy Brown as Mindy Meeks-Martin, Mason Gooding as Chad Meeks-Martin, Joel McHale as Mark Evans, and more.
Scream 7 arrives on February 27, 2026.
