A recent interview featuring Robert Pattinson has drawn attention after the actor shared a surprising behind-the-scenes detail from the film Mickey 17. The actor opened up about an uncomfortable costume and his experience wearing it on set. The remark, delivered during a lighthearted exchange, has since gained traction online.
Robert Pattinson reveals his most ‘uncomfortable costume’ came in Mickey 17
Robert Pattinson shared an unusual behind-the-scenes detail about one of his past roles, revealing that his most physically challenging costume experience came while filming Mickey 17. The actor made the comment during a segment with Entertainment Weekly alongside his The Drama co-star Zendaya, in which the two participated in a Lie Detector-style game.
When asked to identify the most uncomfortable costume he has worn for a role, Pattinson said, “I once did this movie where the only thing I had on was like a pipe up my butt.” Zendaya initially dismissed the statement, responding, “I’m only gonna say lie because listen, that could be true, and you know this is what you do with yourself is on your own personal time.”
Pattinson quickly clarified that the situation was part of his work, adding, “It was literally for work. It’s a very important moment; it was very moving as well.” Zendaya remained skeptical, pointing to another project they worked on together and noting, “I would say lie only because I was with you in a film that I feel like your costume was incredibly uncomfortable and I, if I were you, I would be miserable.”
As the exchange continued, Pattinson stood by his statement and described the experience as particularly difficult, adding, “You should try on try wearing an internal costume. It’s pretty uncomfortable.” He ultimately confirmed that the story was true and related specifically to his role in Mickey 17, directed by Bong Joon Ho.
Zendaya then asked for clarification, “You wore a pipe up your butt?” prompting Pattinson to respond, “I did. Pipe was too bendy. You couldn’t get in.”
The unusual and lighthearted exchange quickly gained significant attention online.
