The official digital, Blu-ray, and DVD release dates for Paramount Pictures‘ latest creature feature, Primate, have been announced. The horror thriller hails from 47 Meters Down director Johannes Roberts.
“Lucy’s tropical island homecoming was supposed to be beaches and best friends—not a fight for her life. When her family’s exceptionally clever chimp spirals into a savage, rabid frenzy, the night explodes into terrifying chaos,” reads the official synopsis. “With her father away and no help coming, paradise becomes a prison as Lucy and her friends fight to survive a deadly predator they once trusted.”
When are the digital, Blu-ray, and DVD release dates for Primate?
Primate will be available to own or rent on digital platforms starting tomorrow, February 10. It will then be followed by its Blu-ray and DVD release on April 21, 2026. Since its theatrical release last January, the R-rated horror movie has received a Certified Fresh rating of 79% on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 187 reviews.
The movie was directed by Roberts, who co-wrote the screenplay with Ernest Riera. The cast includes Oscar winner Troy Kotsur (CODA), Johnny Sequoyah (Dexter: New Blood), Jessica Alexander (The Little Mermaid), Victoria Wyant (Foundation), Gia Hunter (Chloe), Benjamin Cheng, Charlie Mann (Lazarus), Tienne Simon (All the Devils Are Here), and Miguel Torres Umba (Institute). The film had its world premiere at the 2025 Fantastic Fest.
