A popular ABC television show is back for its eighth season, bringing back a major daytime talk show that’s become a fan-favorite.
What ABC TV show has been renewed for an eighth season?
The daytime talk show Tamron Hall, hosted by broadcast journalist and author Tamron Hall, is back for Season 8. The show originally debuted in 2019, and has continued to air ever since, with over 1,200 episodes airing to date. The show features Hall engaging in various topical conversations, and discussing stories that happen throughout the day as well.
Speaking to Variety on the show’s renewal, Hall said that she will continue to “keep talking” when it comes to the show, and hopes to continue having conversations that need to happen. Hall was also tapped by ABC to host the Oscars Red Carpet Show.
“My vision of where we’re going usually comes to me in the middle of night, and all of these changes were happening,” Hall said. “And I said, ‘Let’s Keep Talking.’ Season 8. That’s our thing. I called our team and I said, ‘Let’s Keep Talking.’ The landscape is always going to change. Some of Conan’s jokes at the Oscars where he talked about us watching our phones to consume movies and all of these AI jokes, they landed partly because the industry is fearful of these changes.
“So it’s not unique to daytime. I think there are obviously some big headlines. But in truth, everywhere you go, people are having the same conversation. ‘Will I keep working? Will I continue to be able to do what I love?’ That’s not unique to daytime TV. I think what we are seeing is a reflection of a larger conversation. So that’s why our theme is ‘Let’s Keep Talking,’ whether it’s on daytime TV, whether it’s in a podcast, whatever version of this. I think that will never go out of style.”
Throughout its run, Tamron Hall has earned two Daytime Emmy wins for outstanding daytime talk series host, and has also developed a pretty strong fanbase during its time. Past guests include Mo’Nique, Priscilla Presley, Deion Sanders, Jim Gaffigan, Cam Newton, and more.
