What happens in the Pinocchio trailer?
The video reintroduces the titular character as a killer doll, who forms an unexpected attachment to a young boy. With the guidance of an evil version of cricket, he goes on a brutal killing spree as part of his attempt at becoming a real boy. The trailer also highlights some of the movie’s gruesome sequences, including a scene featuring Pinocchio forcibly peeling off his victim’s skin.
Pinocchio is written and directed by Rhys Frake-Waterfield. The ensemble cast includes Evan Lloyd, Richard Brake, Adrian Burton, Peter DeSouza-Feighoney, Charlotte Jackson Coleman, Kelly Rian Sanson, Karolina Knight, Alexander Butler, Cameron Bell, Jessica Balmer, and more. A Nightmare on Elm Street vet Robert Englund is also voicing the role of the evil cricket. The movie is executive-produced by Stuart Alson and Nicole Holland, with Frake-Waterfield and Scott Jeffrey serving as producers. The creative team consists of cinematographer Vince Knight and composer Andrew Scott Bell.
This marks the latest entry to Jagged Edge Productions’ Poohniverse franchise, where classic children’s novels are reimagined into twisted horror stories. The independent cinematic universe officially started with the released of Winnie-The-Pooh: Blood and Honey in 2023. Due to its success, it was followed by Blood and Honey 2 in 2024, Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare in 2025, and Bambi: The Reckoning in 2025.
