Warner Bros. Pictures recently confirmed the release date for Mortal Kombat 2‘s second trailer. They also revealed where the footage would first drop. The upcoming film, hitting theaters in three months, comes five years after its predecessor.
Like the latter, it is based on the popular long-running fighting video game franchise. The film will see Johnny Cage and Earthrealm’s champions fight against the malevolent Shao Khan’s rule.
Second Mortal Kombat 2 trailer to arrive this month
Warner Bros. Pictures announced via a new social media post that Mortal Kombat 2’s new trailer would drop on February 25, 2026, at IGN Fan Fest.
Putting an exciting spin on their announcement, they also offered fans the opportunity to introduce the trailer at the event. They shared a small clip, featuring a montage of the upcoming film’s shots.
Through the video, they encouraged fans to submit the hashtag #MortalKombatKall along with their best impressions of the franchise’s iconic lines, “GET OVER HERE” and “FINISH HIM,” which would be used to introduce the new trailer.
IGN Fan Fest is shaping up to be a massive event with a large number of exciting reveals apart from Mortal Kombat 2’s second trailer. The event will include new looks at Ryan Gosling’s Project Hail Mary, One Piece Season 2: Into the Grand Line, and Scrubs’ revival. It will also showcase deep dives into upcoming video games like 007 First Light, Crimson Desert, and LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight.
