CIA, the upcoming FBI spin-off TV show, led by Tom Ellis and Nick Gehlfuss, will get multiple crossovers with the parent series. These crossovers will feature several stars of one show appearing on the other. Notably, CIA will debut on CBS on February 23, 2026, whereas FBI will return from the holiday hiatus that day with Season 8 Episode 11.
CBS shows CIA and FBI to have two-way crossovers
FBI and its new spin-off series will have two-way crossover episodes.
According to Deadline, Necar Zadegan’s Deputy Chief of Station, Nikki Reynard, from CIA will appear on FBI. Meanwhile, Alana De La Garza’s Special Agent in Charge, Isobel Castille, and Missy Peregrym’s Special Agent Maggie Bell from FBI will make appearances on the spin-off. However, it is unclear in which episodes of either show these crossovers will happen.
Mike Weiss serves as the showrunner on both FBI and CIA. When asked how the franchise and fans benefit from these crossovers, Weiss told the outlet, “Fans get to see their favorite characters flex their muscles in cases and in situations that can differ from their work in their ordinary worlds. And we get to expand the universe of BOTH shows – the CIA and FBI might be racing to keep people safe from various threats, but in crossing characters over, we get to show that both agencies are hard at work in the same city, on the same timeline, in the same shared reality.”
Commenting on the possibility of more crossovers, Weiss added, “I won’t say yet, but it all comes down to story and what helps us craft the best individual stories for the CIA and the FBI, respectively.”
This comes following the announcement last month that FBI series regular Jeremy Sisto will make a guest appearance on the series premiere of CIA as Assistant Special Agent in Charge Jubal Valentine (via Collider).
The cast of CIA includes Lucifer fame Tom Ellis as CIA case officer Colin Glass, Chicago Med star Nick Gehlfuss as FBI agent Bill Goodman, and Natalee Linez as Gina Rojas.
The new episode of FBI will air at 9 PM ET on February 23, 2026, while CIA will premiere immediately after at 10 PM ET.
