Hulu has dropped the first look photos for a new comedy series from the producers behind one of television’s most talked-about shows. Two well-known faces from both sides of the Atlantic lead the cast, bringing serious dramatic and comedic credentials to the screen. The wrong-com aims to shake up the genre when it hits Hulu this summer.

Alice and Steve’s first look photos revealed for Hulu comedy series

Hulu has released the first look at Alice and Steve, a new six-episode comedy series. The show stars Nicola Walker and Jemaine Clement as two best friends whose relationship fractures. The series premieres in competition at CANNESERIES 2026 before streaming on Hulu this summer.

The show comes from Clerkenwell Films, the production company behind Emmy-winning series Baby Reindeer. Sophie Goodhart, known for Sex Education, created and wrote the series. BAFTA-winner Tom Kingsley directed all six episodes.

The official synopsis reads: “Alice is devastated when her best friend Steve starts dating her 26-year-old daughter Izzy.” The story follows Alice as she attempts to destroy the relationship between Steve and Izzy. Steve anticipates her every move, turning their once-perfect friendship into an all-out feud.

The ensemble cast includes Joel Fry from Cruella and Yali Topol Margalith from A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder. Tyrese Eaton-Dyce, Marcia Warren, Eilidh Fisher, and Ebony Aboagye also appear in supporting roles. Hulu describes the show as “a hilarious, messy, and complicated exploration of friendship, love, and revenge.”

Hulu commissioned the series through Lee Mason, Vice President of Scripted at Disney+ EMEA. Executive producers Petra Fried, Andy Baker, and Wim De Greef represent Clerkenwell Films. Fran du Pille serves as series producer.

The show will stream on Hulu in the U.S., Hulu on Disney+ for bundle subscribers, and Disney+ internationally. Hulu describes Alice and Steve as an anti-romantic comedy asking: “How far would you go for love or revenge?”
